At Kapti, we exist to help you preserve the tiny, glowing moments that make your life uniquely yours — from the crisp taste of your favorite seasonal drink to the inside jokes you share with loved ones, to the quiet late-night thoughts that shift your perspective. We understand that every memory capsule you create holds deeply personal, irreplaceable pieces of your story, so protecting your privacy is the foundation of everything we build.

Our core commitment: We will never access, read, or analyze the private content of your memory capsules unless you explicitly grant us permission to do so to resolve a specific support request you submit.

1 Information We Collect

We only collect data necessary to deliver and improve your Kapti experience:

Content you choose to save: All materials you add to your memory capsules, including photos, mood tags, life notes, journal entries, and reflections. This content is owned entirely by you.
Account information (optional): If you create a Kapti account to sync your memories across devices, we collect your email address and encrypted password. You may use Kapti entirely offline without creating an account if you prefer.
Support correspondence: If you reach out to our team for help, we collect the information you share with us to resolve your request.
Anonymous usage data: Aggregated, de-identified data about how you interact with Kapti features (for example, how often users add photos to capsules, or what time of day most people journal) that we use to improve the app experience. This data is never linked to your personal account or memory content.

2 How We Use Your Information

To provide core Kapti services: storing your memory capsules, syncing content across your devices, and enabling you to access, edit, and organize your memories whenever you want.
To improve our product: using anonymous usage data to refine existing features and build new tools that fit seamlessly into your memory-keeping routine.
To assist with support requests: responding to questions, troubleshooting technical issues, and following up on feedback you share with us.
To maintain account and data security: protecting your content from unauthorized access, fraud, or other security risks.
We will never use your personal memory content for marketing purposes, train artificial intelligence models, or share it with third parties for any reason without your explicit written consent.

3 Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or lease your personal information or memory content to any third parties. We only share data in the following limited circumstances:

Trusted service providers: We work with third-party vendors that provide essential infrastructure for Kapti (including cloud storage services and payment processors, if you purchase premium features). All vendors are bound by strict confidentiality agreements, and are only permitted to access data as necessary to deliver their services to us. They are prohibited from accessing your private memory content or using your data for their own purposes.
Legal requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by applicable law, or if we believe in good faith that such action is necessary to comply with legal processes, protect our rights or property, or ensure the safety of our users or the public. We will provide you with advance notice of any such disclosure where legally permitted to do so.

4 Your Rights and Controls

You retain full ownership and control over all content you save in Kapti, and you can exercise the following rights at any time:

Access, edit, or delete individual memory capsules, tags, photos, and notes directly in the app.
Export a complete copy of all your Kapti data in a portable, machine-readable format, free of charge.
Permanently delete your entire Kapti account and all associated data. Once deleted, your content is permanently erased from our servers with no recoverable backups.
Opt out of collection of anonymous usage data in your app settings at any time.
Adjust your encryption settings: you can choose to enable end-to-end encryption for your memory capsules, so that even Kapti cannot access your content even if we wanted to.

5 Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:

AES-256 encryption for all content stored on our servers, and TLS 1.3 encryption for all data transferred between your device and our systems.
Regular security audits and penetration testing to identify and address potential vulnerabilities.
Strict access controls for our team, so that no staff member can access your private content without your explicit permission.

While we take all reasonable steps to protect your data, no online service can guarantee absolute security. We recommend you use a strong, unique password for your Kapti account and enable two-factor authentication for additional protection.

6 Children's Privacy

Kapti is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will immediately delete that information and close the associated account.

7 Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or service offerings. We will notify you of any material changes at least 30 days before the new policy takes effect, via in-app notification or email. Your continued use of Kapti after the new policy takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree with the updated policy, you may export your data and delete your account at any time.
